I had this and checked it and rubber boot was split so chucked a new one on with a load of grease and its been fine since so worth a look mate
As title says I think the inner cv joint has failed today. Been fine up to today and only recent work that's been done was the track rods and track rod ends last month. Symptom are an occasional clunk more common at low speeds when the power hits the wheels. Don't think it's the outer joints as it doesn't do it when the wheel is turned, it just seems more intermittent.
Is is there any way of getting a definitive answer before I get them changed. Also does anyone know what the cost is and where I could get the work done![]()

What makes you think its the cv joint. My mates audi was doing the same and it turned out to be the lower engine to frame mount.
At one point yesturday for a few seconds it seemed to clunk with each wheel roation, when I speeded up so did the clunk vmbut then it stopped again
I hate intermittent noises
Me too. Need it sorting though as I'm off to Wales at the end of the month. I first thought it was a broken spring but not sure now
