    Astra H IPC

    Hi guys.

Had a problem this week with the IPC on my Astra 1.8 Design.

With ignition on, DIS illuminates, fuel pump runs, +15 supplies to heater etc come live, but there is nothing whatsoever on the instruments, no bulbs, nothing, car doesn't even crank.
Sidenote, the headlights come on with ignition regardless of lightswitch position.

Checked with OPCOM, all ECU's reporting no comms with IPC.

Pulled instruments out, all -ve, +30, +15 supplies are ok, so I'm assuming now that the IPC is dead.

I'm thinking at this point to fit VXR instruments as there is one being broken locally.

My question, is it neccessary to match IPC (part numbers/IDENT) at all, or with variant and code index reprogramming, can other petrol instruments be programmed okay after they've been reset from donor car?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers.

Any IPC can be programmed to any car. You could put the VXR speedo into a diesel if you wanted and they would work fine.

The VXR clocks have specific idents, so you couldn't match the ident with your own even if you wanted to.

Just make sure they are reset first, or you have the code.

Opcom (clones) cannot program an IPC from scratch including security code, so would need to be a tech2 job.

      Thanks for the info Richard.
I've managed to source a matching IPC locally that's been reset, so vxr instruments will be put on hold for the meantime.

Don't suppose your passing north Sheffield / Barnsley? I'll give Stampede a shout on AON or somewhere to see if he's available.

      Cheers.

Hi, I don't want to create a new thread.
Does anyone know how can I start the Astra Mk5 clocks "on the table"? After connecting 12V (on both pins) and Groud (on both pins too) the clocks don't start. The reason is no CAN, I suppose.
Is there any way to start the clocks without any CAN emulator?
I've made a setup which IPC+CIM. But my CIM haven't an ignition switch so I dont know which pins in ignition switch connector I need to connect to simulate an ignition switch. Maybe anyone know
      Hope I wrote it understandable

I think I connect pins 2 and 3 on the connector for the key. You can see in measuring blocks it change to key in, crank etc.

I think it is UEC that give wake up signal after receiving key in message from CIM. I have all modules on my loom and it works.

Thanks for reply. That's what i thought. I need a UEC. Now I'm going to get UEC and connect it with others modules and try.
      Thanks again.

With UEC everything works fine. I had to connect pin 2,3 and 4 on CIM key connector. Thanks.
